Meet Kat, Founder & Physical Therapist

Kathryn T. Newton, PT, DPT

Hi everyone, I’m Kat — I’m truly so glad you’re here.

I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in pelvic and obstetric health, & my passion is helping people overcome pelvic floor dysfunction so they can feel strong, confident, & connected to their bodies again.

A little more about me:

I’m a Florida native who somehow survived several years living (& freezing!) in Chicago, where I had the privilege of working at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, the #1 Rehabilitation Hospital in the country. It was there that I fell in love with treating complex pelvic health conditions-including chronic pelvic pain, stubborn constipation, urinary leakage, painful sex, pregnancy-related changes, postpartum recovery, & more.

In 2020, after moving back to Florida, I opened Rythm Pelvic Health with the hope of bringing high-quality, personalized pelvic care to Brevard. In 2023, after welcoming my daughter, I stepped away from the clinic for an extended maternity leave, which was further extended with the birth of my son. During this season, I also had the opportunity to mentor other pelvic health therapists- a season that brought meaningful growth, perspective, & a renewed appreciation for the emotional and physical layers of pregnancy, birth, and recovery.

Now, with my family in a new rhythm, I’m reopening Rythm on a very limited & intentional basis. I am so excited to return to the clinical work I love while honoring this chapter of motherhood with young littles.

My treatment philosophy is simple: whole-body, hands-on, evidence-based, and genuinely you-centered.
I’m committed to finding the root cause of your symptoms so you can experience long-term, meaningful relief, not just quick fixes.

Outside the clinic, you’ll likely find me paddle boarding, attempting to surf, doing yoga, or taking beach walks with my family. We absolutely love living here in Indialantic, & it’s important to me to serve the community we call home.

I’ve helped hundreds of individuals heal their pelvic symptoms & reclaim the life they want to live. Relief is possible for you too- and I’d be honored to support you every step of the way.

Treatment Philosophy:

I believe that pelvic floor therapy should look deeper & treat the whole person-not only the pelvis. I follow the “why” behind your symptoms & use evidence-based, hands-on care to support the way you actually move & live every day.

As a manual-based pelvic health specialist, I blend hands-on treatments with exercises & movement that reflects your real life. I’m passionate about getting to the root-cause of your symptoms & helping the bigger picture come together in a way that feels clear, approachable, & empowering.

Above all, I want each session to feel warm, supportive, & encouraging- a space where you can show up exactly as you are & feel genuinely cared for: seen, heard, & guided from our first conversation. We’ll work together, we’ll problem-solve, & yes-when appropriate-we’ll probably laugh a little too.

All in all, my goal is to help you connect the dots, treat you as a whole human, & empower you to return to the parts of life you cherish most—without limitation.

The History of Rythm:

Rythm first opened its doors in 2020 in Melbourne Beach & quickly became such a meaningful part of my life & this amazing community. I spent those years caring for patients one-on-one, mentoring other pelvic therapists, & offering community education that I loved deeply.

After welcoming my daughter in 2023, I stepped away from the clinic & shifted fully into mentorship for a season. I closed the physical space, packed everything into storage, & allowed Rythm to rest there -waiting until the time felt right to return.

I named my practice Rythm because of the lumbopelvic rhythm — the natural, interconnected way the lumbar spine and pelvis move together during everyday activities, a reminder that nothing in the body works alone. It reflects my passion for finding root causes, especially since so many pelvic health concerns originate outside the pelvis. I also chose Rythm because my goal is to help people find their rhythm again- to feel in sync with their bodies & return to a rhythm that truly feels like their own. And yes, I intentionally misspelled it… a small nod to the fact that every body is different & requires care tailored to each of our unique needs, and that individualized treatment is at the heart of what I do.

As I step into this next chapter, I’m so grateful for where Rythm began & for the chance to bring it back with fresh purpose and intention, while honoring this chapter of motherhood to my two littles.

The Rythm clinic is a small, boutique pelvic health practice in the heart of Indialantic, FL. As a solo provider, I offer warm, specialized, one-on-one care to our local community.

Virtual appointments are also available for added flexibility & for those living in Florida outside of the Space Coast.
